La Rambla - a ramble about food

We dedicated a day to strolling on and around the famous La Rambla. There are all kinds of buisnesses around here, everything between world famous brands like Chanel to market stalls with flowers that has been in buisness for generations. There are also a lot of more common stores but we also looked up some vintage and retro stores nearby like a vintage army shop.

Let's be honest: is there anything better than food? Well, okay there might be a few thing but food is definietly on my toplist. But I'm always in a good mood when I have a nice dish or desert in front of me. I could easily make posts only about food, but I'll keep my food-talk to one big post this time.

On La Rambla you can find La Boqueria, one of Barcelonas bigger market halls. I love market halls no matter what country or city I´m visiting, it's one of the simple pleasures of life. You can find pretty much anything edible in all the colours of the rainbow, like sweets in all kinds of shapes. There is also lots of fruits and vegetables, of course.

There are a lot of restaurants in and around the market hall. Of course many of them offer a wide variary of seafood so we decided on simple calamares (fried squid) with a large Clara (beer with lemonade). I must say I have become quite fond of drinking Clara and I've made myself a few at home which is a bit surprising as I'm much more of a wine-person.

I was really longing for these chocolate-dipped strawberries every time we walked past them, so I just had to indulge. Not only did it taste as good as it looks, it kept all the restaurant staff away from handing us menus when we passed them: no need to try to tempt us with food when we're already on dessert!

I will stop rambling about food for now. But seriously, food.
