Out and about - Budapest!

During our easter-break I and two of my best friends went to Budapest for a week! I was born there and have been there several times, so I know a little about the city and I can speak hungarian. I was both extremely excited and nervous on the airport; I have never been abroad without my parents or guardian!

I'm dividing the trip into several posts, one would be too long!

Thursday:
We arrived at the apartment-hotel in the afternoon, the owner was sooo nice! It's called Hostel Budapest Mozaik/King Guesthouse and I highly recommend it of you're visiting Budapest - cheap, awesomely located (no longer than 10 mins to the most things!) and a great owner!
It was my friend's birthday so we dressed up nicely and went to a fancy restaurant called Noir et l'or and dined like queens.

Friday:
Our first full-day in Budapest! We bought a one week travel card and started exploring the city; Hero's Square, Városliget (Europe's first free park), the Parliament and the Szent István Basil.

The same night we decided to go out and see how the nightlife is! We visited a place called Instant that would become my favourite place. It is a so-called ruin pub where they have remodeled an old building. They had two floors with rooms to hang out and talk in, two dancefloors and countless bars! But the best part was how it looked, a theme that reminds one of Alice in Wonderland, magic and fairy-tales.

Saturday:
Sleeping until noon after a looong night out made us quite lazy this day, so we went to the Botanical Garden. They had a special theme during this weekend; cherry blossom festival! We bought breakfast and ate it there while watching samurais demonstrate the art of fighting with a sword, one of the coolest breakfasts I've had so far! The garden itself was really nice too!
