Food & friendliness
In addition to all the beutiful archithecture in the Eixample, my favourite things in Barcelona is the food and the friendliness of the people. If you've been to Sweden you know it's a minor disaster if someone decides to stand closer than 2 meters from a local while waiting for the bus. The people of Barcelona are open to small-talk in the elevator and are very helpful when you don't quite understand what you're ordering from the menu.
We were looking for an other place to have dinner at during our second night of our stay, the place I had found through Tripadvisor wasn't so appealing in person and we were both hungry and tired. There were other places nearby and we found a small restaurant just across the street. It looked simple, but the menu seemed good and the waitress was friendly and inivtating so we took a chance.
The wait for the paella for two was well worth the wait. Homemade, steaming and with fresh ingredients we feasted like royals. Even my mother who really isn't a fan of red wine enjoyed the ice-cold, fruity taste of the sangria that was served with the paella.
